Acrylic Painting

As I continue my life’s journey I look forward to painting, learning new skills, trying
new techniques and not just thinking out of the box, but maybe painting the box
and embellishing it in an altering way…

Acrylic Paintings

I love it when someone is flipping through my watercolors or canvases (like they’re shopping). It always interests me which ones they stop at. Some of my paintings aren’t signed, I either didn’t think they were done or I wasn’t satisfied with them (could be a number of reasons as I am sure you may well know especially if you “do art”) I have had people go crazy over a piece that to me was not all the great, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If a painting moves someone, sparks an emotion or memory or any kind of response that only art can, I know that I have achieved one objective.

Acrylic Painting and Fluid Acrylic Painting

One of the greatest things about art is that it’s “all good.” There’s no right or wrong. Someone may not care for your style, but that doesn’t make it bad art. It’s a personal artistic expression.

Artist Trading Cards

A fairly new outlet in which I have been expressing my creativity in the last few years has been an obsession with ATCs. These little “works of art” have been a wonderful outlet because you can work on them anywhere, anytime and in between making dinner and switching laundry. I now have the extreme pleasure of admiring other’s ATC artwork from all over the world. I love to trade.

Acrylic Painting

I feel that every thing I have done, and learned, and read, and studied is all leading up to my best painting that I have yet to do. No matter what classes I take, books I read, galleries I visit, I always feel that I am gathering more information and skills that I can use or will use on my next or future projects.

Acrylic Painting

Now that our sons are out on their own and we have more space, as we have redone our home, we have designed several workspaces throughout the house where we can paint and work on projects. We have worked diligently to turn our home into a gallery with our own work. Unfortunately, we are running out of wall space.

Oil Painting

My husband is an artist, painting with oils, and is an excellent photographer.
We love to travel and now have and continue to build a large photo reference library.

Acrylic Painting

I have taken numerous
college classes, including
painting, drawing, graphic
design, history, but do not
as yet have a degree. I
have attended classes and
workshops, to numerous to
count, of all sorts. I have a
vast art library in my home
and have access to two
fabulous libraries; one in
the city I live in and one near
by, both have an extensive
collection of books, tapes
and reference materials.

Altered Art

It was just a matter of time that I starting making all
sorts of altered art, art dolls and collaborating with other artists. I take my art supplies everywhere I go. I will not leave the house, especially
if I am going to be gone for more than 24 hours, without taking my watercolors and supplies, drawing materials, etc… I wouldn’t think of it!

Acrylic Painting

I love painting what I am looking at outdoors; my husband has documented this with photos. Sometimes this is a challenge but well worth the effort. In addition to painting with acrylics, I paint with watercolor and have just recently started painting with oils again after over thirty years.
