Message to viewers

It’s been a while since I’ve posted some new photos of my paintings and altered art. But, be certain that I have been painting and working on art since the last time I updated my blog. My art is a constant flow of thinking, composing, researching, creating, seeking inspiration, and painting. Here are just a few new images of things I’ve worked on. I will try to post more as soon as possible. Hope you enjoy my little gallery, and thank you for viewing.

Oil Painting

Late summer and into fall also means sunflowers. Sunflowers are a happy flower. This 2’x3’oil painting is from my head (I had 4 reference photos from various sources to look at). In the future I would love to find a field of sunflowers to paint outdoors in real time.

Oil Painting

I think I can document the seasons with my paintings. It’s fall again, and that means pumpkins. I love pumpkins and all the things you can do with them, including painting a pumpkin patch. This 2’x3’oil painting on a recycled canvas was paint from my head using several reference photos.

Spring Inspiration

In the spring I was again inspired by all of the change going on in nature. All of the perennials bursting from the ground, or blooming in the trees. The color, the fragrance; it’s just lovely.

Paintings: Oil, Fluid Acrylics

I love to paint trees. It is very relaxing, almost hypnotizing to make all of the brush strokes for the branches. I was very stressed when I painted the yellow tree, which I call the Relaxing Tree, just putting paint to canvas was so calming, it’s the ultimate therapy. I like to experiment with color, but it’s obvious that I’m partial to blue.

Oil Painting

Thoughts of Migration. Did this original oil painting last fall, the inspiration came from the migration of birds and all of the changes that take place during the autumn season.

Cola

This is a watercolor that I painted for my daughter-in-law. Frank, my husband, matted and framed it for me. He does beautiful matt cutting. With the matt and frame it’s about 28”x 14”.

Cemetery Box

Found another little wood box (it was originally cream colored with pink roses), left the drawer out of the bottom, added the legs and roof (to hide LED), painted and embellished.

Altered Chair

Love this little chair. I purchased it at a church resale in Remus, MI. It did not have a seat, so Frank made me a new one and I painted it. I call it Determination.
